A Beach to Walk on, Kirk/Spock, Kirk Prime/Spock Prime. This fic brought me to the Holmes fandom, tbh. My activity in the Star Trek fandom was already waning by that time, and that was the fic I struggled with. I wanted to write a mystery and turned for inspiration first to Agatha Christie and then to ACD. I grew up with Lenfilm Holmes and as a child didn’t perceive neither it nor the stories themselves as slashy. Then I read Decoding the Subtext and considered the possibility. Then I watched Granada and became converted. After that I participated in A Study in Canon book club on tumblr—it was Canon queer read along. It was a real eye-opener that the queerness of the canon is a deep rabbit hole.

I have a plan how to finish the Trek fic and am resolved to do it this year. In fact, I won’t proceed with my major Holmes/Watson WIP until it’s done. Thanks so much for asking!
