I don't know what scholar-idealists were responsible for creating this wonderful resource in the relatively early days of the internet, but Victorian Web is a really great resource. And I say this as a professional historian, though not as a nineteenth-century specialist. So, in other words, I am happy to vouch for its rigor, but it does not reflect the very latest scholarship on anything. Many readers of this page seem to be particularly interested in sexuality, and there's comparatively little on that, but I'm happy to provide reading recommendations... again with the caveat that I'm not au courant with the field.
