[personal profile] saki101 self-rec’d an ACD Holmes crossover with Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher

[personal profile] sanguinity wrote New Russian Holmes fusion with The Lost World as well as Elementary x Dinosaurs;

The first Holmes fic I wrote was inspired by Crime and Punishment.

I’m sure there are many crossovers out there. Recs or self-recs? :)

Hm, not sure this falls in with the bailiwick of the comm but I wrote ACD x Strange Empire, which puts Holmes and Watson in the Old West (right century for the comm, but wrong continent): Desperate Men and Fools. No knowledge of the second canon is needed.

(And definitely not within the scope of the comm, I did a few more Elementary fusions, one with Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century and another with Bee-Man Comics.)

Let's see, recs... A good many of these are from [community profile] holmestice:

[personal profile] language_escapes: sewing her skin together as I sew mine, Enola Holmes x Mary Russell

[personal profile] graycardinal: The Impossibility of the Improbable, ACD x Mary Poppins

[personal profile] graycardinal: A Case of Identities, ACD x Doctor Who

(ACD x Doctor Who is a big category, and I haven't read most of them.)

(While we're mentioning Graycardinal, he also has some outside-of-the-scope-of-the-comm crossovers that I like: Star Trek: Next Gen Moriarty x Kurland Moriarty, Charlotte Holmes x 22nd Century)

[personal profile] gardnerhill has done so many crossovers I couldn't even begin to list them, but let's start with Everything is Watson, Lego Hound of the Baskervilles x Lego Movie

[archiveofourown.org profile] iwantthatcoat: Police of Penzance, ACD x Pirates of Penzance

[archiveofourown.org profile] RobberBaroness: The World's Greatest Anarchist Mind Great Mouse Detective x A Study in Emerald

[archiveofourown.org profile] argyle4eva: Carbuncle of Death Asylum/Dinosaur Holmes x Torchwood

....and I'm sure more will occur to me later. ;-)

Recently I wrote a Holmes-Star Trek fusion. The version of Holmes canon is deliberately mixed — it draws mostly from ACD but a few things from Sherlock. Back in the day on alt.startrek.creative.erotica.moderated (ASCEM) I was classed with the Vulcanologists, so the story is also a bit heavy on Vulcan worldbuilding, and is set in the “alternate original series” universe where Vulcan was destroyed. I’ve tried to make it accessible to non-Trek folks with worldbuilding & sexuality appendices.

With Careful Hands.

My latest crossover is Sherlock Holmes x Raffles. Rated: Teen. A kind of heist-fic or case-fic but not fluff or for those who prefer their ships uncomplicated.

There are some fusions with Regency and Victorian literature that I've loved, such as:

And this is a wonderful fusion with the Patrick O'Brian age of sail Aubrey-Maturin novels:

Many Weary Months (5714 words) by alltoseek, JessamyGriffith

Series: Part 1 of The White Clouds, Flying
Summary:

In the summer of the year 1812, a Lieutenant S. Holmes of His Majesty's Royal Navy, banished to Upper Canada for insubordination, wrote a personal letter to his friend and companion Doctor St-J. H. Watson. He enclosed this letter in a package with several other objects intended to be sent to the Doctor via the next packet ship.

This parcel was never received by Doctor Watson, nor was its existence ever known of to scholars or historians. Until now.

A nineteenth century fusion with Master and Commander, written as a slice of life, history and first meetings.

Now translated into Chinese, by rsh437.
